Italy is part of the Metal-Battle arena since 2004, when the contest was called differently. Actually the Italian metal scene is still an underground movement with limited possibilites for the emerging acts, and in such a scenario the aim to play at the Wacken Open Air, unquestionably the best rock-metal festival worldwide, is the most important chance a young and unsigned band can get in order to try to reach a good mediatic exposure in front of the whole international metal scene.
