Japan is proud to be joining Metal Battle in 2012 for the first time.
We are very excited to be part of the Wacken Metal Battle family, as Japan has always been a country in love with art and music.
Following last year's tsunami tragedy which slowed down all activities for a while including the metal scene, Japan has been quickly recovering.
Its metal scene has been active since the early 80's with cult bands such as Loudness, United and Outrage.
Japan has also always had a very active and dynamic underground scene with a broad range of styles.
Tokyo remains the main area for the metal scene with plenty of live clubs such as Shinjuku Marz, where the Metal Battle Japan final will take place on May 19th 2012.
The scene also has quite a few music bars such as Metal Godz and Rock no Cocoro.
By joining Metal Battle, we hope to be able to help introduce our best local talents, as well as discover and bond with other talented bands from all over the world.
