Death Row - Wacken Metal Battle

Death Row is a deathened groove metal band from Sofia, Bulgaria, formed in 2021 by a group of school friends. Their sound channels the aggression of ’90s groove metal, thrash, and hardcore — drawing from Pantera, Machine Head, Gojira, Trivium, and 90s hardcore — paired with introspective, poetic lyricism.

Highlights include Hills of Rock 2024, Polinerock Festival, S’cool Rock Fest (Plovdiv), Shiny Fest (Sofia), and an opening slot for Lazarvs in Plovdiv. They’ve also taken two national prizes: the 2023 Music Accelerator (which launched their debut single Patria in February 2024) and first place at Wolf Path Rock Fest in Chelopech. Their 2025 debut album was followed by their first nationwide tour — Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Yambol, Varna — with new material currently in the works.

Ihr Sound kanalisiert die Aggression des Groove Metal, Thrash und Hardcore der 90er – inspiriert von Pantera, Machine Head, Gojira, Trivium und der 90er-Hardcore-Szene – gepaart mit nachdenklicher, poetischer Lyrik.

Zu ihren Stationen zählen Hills of Rock 2024, das Polinerock Festival, S’cool Rock Fest (Plovdiv), Shiny Fest (Sofia) und ein Support-Auftritt für Lazarvs in Plovdiv. Dazu kommen zwei nationale Preise: der Music Accelerator 2023 (der ihre Debütsingle Patria im Februar 2024 ermöglichte) und der erste Platz beim Wolf Path Rock Fest in Chelopech. Auf ihr 2025er Debütalbum folgte ihre erste landesweite Tournee – Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Yambol, Varna – während aktuell neues Material entsteht.
